“The Last Merovingian” & “Holy Blood, Holy Grail”

If you are looking to see whether or not Jesus actually married Mary Magdalene or not, you will have to look, dig, and read a lot. Of course, since the success of “The Da Vinci Code” each day more and more writers are trying to get their “piece of the pie” and have written on the subject; some of them are actually interesting and others are just a pile of words and a terrible and sad waste of paper.

However, “The Da Vinci Code” was based on other works that were issued a long time before this successful novel. One of them is “The Last Merovingian”, that deals with the last descendant of Merove, the supposed son of Jesus and Mary Magdalene. In this novel, the author states that this breed and “their father”, in some sort of resemblance to the Roman and Greek mythology, somehow orchestrates all the events that have changed the life of the human race, where the demi-gods were able to talk and ask their God Parents for favors and help.

Other book that you should read is “Holy Blood, Holy Grail”, where its authors state that there was a curator that all of a sudden became rich, and that he held the key to an unexplained mystery that would rock the very foundations of Christianity.

Whatever you choose to believe, either of these books will constitute a nice coffee reading; do not take them as if they were the ultimate truth.

The Da Vinci Code

If you are one of the few who have not yet read The Da Vinci Code, because you were waiting for the movie to come out, let me tell you that you are missing on something really interesting and fun. Of course, the movie was indeed great and stuck to the storyline in the book; however, even though there are some “flirting” innuendos, they are not as heavy or as obvious like the ones portrayed by US movie producers.

And if you are amongst the fewer who do not know what is The Da Vinci Code; let me give you a short summary:

The book circles around the proposal that Leonardo Da Vinci was part of a secret society that swore to guard and protect the Holy Grail. It is not the cup that we all believe that was either used by Jesus at the Last Supper, or that contained His Blood at the foot of The Cross, but the transformation of the French term “Sang Real” or royal blood. Meaning that Jesus married Mary Magdalene, they had a child who had in turn children of his own and so on until our time.

Whether or not you believe it, it surely is worth reading. Do not waste your time with the movie - though it is good, it is not as good as the book. And if you want to know more, then you should continue with “The Last Merovingian” and “Holy Blood, Holy Grail”
